How The Towers Evolved
The building was initially constructed as a multi-family residential complex in 1971 before it was converted into a housing cooperative – Ocean Towers Housing Corporation – in 1978. The Northridge earthquake caused significant damage to both towers in 1994.
The building was vacated and seismically renovated in 1997. This included strengthening its shear wall structure, as well as updating many of its internal systems, reconstructing common area hallways, amenities, and balconies.
A New Beginning
New board members were elected once again in June 2021, and their sole focus has been on maintaining the quality of Ocean Towers and fiduciary responsibilities. Ocean Towers Housing Corporations new board members have designated the following seven sub-committees:
